Our neighborhoods impact our health. Because where you live, impacts how you live.
Fresno Building Healthy Communities (BHC) leaders are pushing for healthy and affordable housing, more and better parks, and neighborhoods free of toxic pollution. Because a healthier nation starts with #OneHealthyFresno.
Since 2010, Fresno Building Healthy Communities partners and residents have been working to ensure that the City of Fresno adopt a General Plan that helps create #OneHealthyFresno.
More than 1,000 residents from central, southeast and southwest Fresno participated in over 50 multi-cultural meetings, attended more than 40 meetings with the City of Fresno and advocated for investment in their neighborhoods to support their health. Thanks to their efforts, the City of Fresno’s General Plan now includes many hard won policies that will help create #OneHealthyFresno.
More than 100 south Fresno residents and youth volunteered on April 9th to clean, paint, and build 37 garden beds at Romain Park. Together we are creating#OneHealthyFresno with more and better parks. Now, it’s time for City of Fresno – Office of the City Manager to do their part and update the Parks Master Plan to create #parks4all!
